Andreu Moreno

Andreu Moreno began his musical studies at the age of nine at the Municipal School of Solsona, his hometown. In 2006 he moved to Barcelona to further his drumming studies with Quim Solé at L’Aula de música moderna y jazz.

Biography

From 2009 to 2013 Andreu Moreno has been studying the Superior Degree of Music at the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya), where he studied drums with David Gómez and David Xirgu, and also received classes from teachers such as Lluís Vidal or Gary Willis. During the academic year 2016-2017, he continued his training by studying the Barcelona Jazz Master at the ESMUC as well. Besides, he participated in seminars and private classes of musicians like Jorge Rossy, Ed Soph, Roger Blàvia, Gergo Borlai or Pedro Barceló.

During these years, the drummer has had the opportunity to share music with artists such as Judit Neddermann, Clara Peya, Vic Moliner, Rubén Fernández, Xavi Torres, Ramón Escalé, Isaac Coll, Big Mama Montse, Néstor Giménez, Adrià Plana, Pau Figueras, Toni Saigi, Eduard Gener, Pau Vidal, Lluc Casares, Ignasi Zamora, David Gómez, Marcel-lí Bayer, Manel Fortià, Ferran Savall, Apel-les Carod, Oscar Latorre, Alex Delgado, Carola Ortiz, Joan Díaz, Txema Riera, Arecio González, Genís Bou, Miki Santamaria or David Pastor. He has also participated in some twenty recordings with groups such as Verd i Blau, Robert Nesta Songs, Judit Neddermann, Eduard Gener, Toni Saigi-Andreu Moreno Duo, Barcelona Gospel Messengers or Big Mama Montse.

Andreu Moreno performed at the Jazz festivals of Barcelona, Terrassa, Vic, Granollers, Girona, Banyoles, Estival (Igualada) and La Garriga, and at other festivals such as the Cruïlla Summer Festival, the BAM, BioRitme, Barnasants, (a)phònica, Strenes or the Hondarribia Blues, and in venues such as L’Auditori in Barcelona, the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Palau de la Música, the Sala Foyer del Liceu, the Jamboree Jazz Club, the Bogui Club in Madrid or the Bilbaina Jazz Club (Bilbao).

On a pedagogical level, Andreu Moreno has been taking drum and combo lessons since 2006 and has been teaching in schools such as the Escola Municipal de Música de Solsona, the Escola Municipal de Música de Súria or the Escola de Música de Casp. He teaches drums at the Taller de Músics Escuela Superior de Estudios Musicales.
