Biography

It was in this same centre that her interest in jazz began and little by little it became her main priority, so that, once she had finished her career in transverse flute, she prepared for the entrance examinations in the speciality of jazz singing in the same centre, and even obtaining the first place.

In June 2011 she finished her studies at the ESMuC, graduating in the career Canto jazz, where she received singing lessons of Carme Canela and Ana Finger, as well as other teachers such as Joan Monné, Eladio Reinón, Matthew Simon, Agustí Fernández, Mireia Lara, Pep O’Callaghan, Francesc Capella and Lluís Vidal, among others. During her academic period, she received masterclasses from David Hoffmann, Dick Oatts, Jerry Bergonzi, Jim Snidero and Chris Cheek.

She also attended different jazz seminars such as the Seminario Internacional de Jazz y Música Latina de Valencia, where she received classes from Jesús Santandreu, Abe Rábade, Toni Belenguer and Terri Lyne Carrington; and participated in workshops with musicians such as Michael Kanan, Peter Bernstein, Putter Smith, Jimmy Wormworth, Albert “Tootie” Heath, Ben Street and Lage Lund. During her stay in New York in 2016, she received private lessons from Chris Cheek and Marion Cowings.

She has worked as a teacher since 2004 in various schools in Barcelona. During 2016 she participated as a teacher in the Seminary of Alhaurín de La Torre (Málaga), together with other internationally renowned teachers: Perico Sambeat, Dado Moroni, André Fernandes and Javier Colina. Also during that year, she took the opportunity to participate in Andalusia by giving workshops in Seville, during the jazz festival.

At present, she is a member of the teaching staff of the Conservatori Superior del Liceu, where she works as a singing and combo teacher, and she is also a member of the teaching staff of the Taller de Músics Escuela Superior de Estudios Musicales.

As a singer she participated in numerous projects, among which the most important are those that have been consolidated into a recording work:

• Wind & Song by Víctor Correa Vocal Quartet (2012);
• Better Together (2013), a project she co-led with double bassist Pau Lligadas;
• Day by Day (2015), his first album as a leader under the Fresh Sound New Talent label, featuring internationally renowned musicians such as pianist Michael Kanan and drummer
• Jorge Rossy, and whose line notes are by Jimmy Wormworth;
• Christmas Time (2014), a homemade project that has become another work under the Fresh Sound New Talent label in 2017;
• Trav’lin’ Light (2017), his second album as a leader under the Fresh Sound New Talent label, which has earned him the 5 stars of the British magazine Jazz Journal review.

She performed in different cycles and festivals throughout the province of Barcelona and the rest of Spain, with a special presence in Andalusia. Just to mention a few: Reus Jazz Festival, L’Empordà Jazz Festival, Cornellà Jazz & Beer Festival, Seville Jazz Festival, Malaga Jazz Festival and in different emblematic venues such as the Jamboree among others.
