Uns anys despr\u00e9s va con\u00e8ixer al baixista David Friesen a Nova York, amb qui va formar un duo que va girar durant set anys pels Estats Units, Canad\u00e0, Europa i Austr\u00e0lia.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019any 1983, juntament amb el flautista Paul Horn i el bateria Robin Horn, van realitzar una gira hist\u00f2rica per la Uni\u00f3 Sovi\u00e8tica. Era la primera vegada en quaranta anys que un grup americ\u00e0 de jazz era convidat a tocar a R\u00fassia.<\/p>\n<p>Ha actuat amb alguns dels millors artistes de jazz del m\u00f3n, com Milt Jackson, Billy Higgins, Lionel Hampton, Billy Hart, Art Farmer, Richie Cole, Conte Condoli, Ralph Towner, Herb Ellis, Scott Hamilton, Bill Waltrous, Paul Horn, Mundell Lowe, Pete Christlieb, George Cables i Tom Harrell.<\/p>\n<p>Al llarg de la seva traject\u00f2ria, Stowell ha realitzat gires, ha enregistrat treballs i ha exercit la doc\u00e8ncia a nivell internacional. Ha realitzat resid\u00e8ncies art\u00edstiques a centres d\u2019Alemanya, Indonesia, Argentina, Estats Units i Canad\u00e0.
