Omar Sosa is one of the most versatile artists on the current jazz scene: composer, producer, pianist, percussionist, arranger, and leader of various groups. On the stage, he is a charismatic figure, who gets the most out of the others on stage with him, with dynamic execution, capacity for improvisation and a lot of humour.

In 2019, Omar Sosa led a pedagogical project with the Taller de Músics Ensemble which involves different musicians from the Taller de Músics Escuela Superior de Estudios Musicales (ESEM).

Together with Omar Sosa, each member of the Ensemble shared their compositions with the group and together they carried out a process of deconstruction, respecting the essence and musical direction of the author, but reinventing the musical aesthetic path towards new and unexpected sounds.

The project was announced with a tour of four concerts in November: Madrid, Málaga, Bordeaux and Évora.

Taller de Músics Ensemble & Omar Sosa is part of a mobility programme called Acciones para Músicos Noveles initiated by Taller de Músics and Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) with the objective of promoting internationally the careers of the students on the higher diploma course at Taller de Músics.
