Ester Quevedo

The pianist Ester Quevedo was born in Madrid and has been studying piano since she was a child. She studied at the Conservatorio de Música El Escorial until she obtained the Grado Medio in the classical piano speciality. At the same time, she received classes from Tony Heimer at the Escuela de Música Creativa in Madrid.

Biography

In 2011, she moved to Barcelona to study at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), where she graduated in jazz piano. There she was taught by great musicians such as Albert Bover, Joan Díaz and Ignasi Terraza, among many others. She also studied at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam.

In 2019 she presented Trabalenguas (Underpool), her debut album as a leader, recorded live at the Teatro de la Aurora as part of the Estival de Jazz Igualada programme. The musicians accompanying her on this occasion were Òscar Latorre, Vicent Pérez, Pau Sala and Roger Gutiérrez.

During her career, she has played in clubs and festivals such as Vijazz, the Festival Jazz Vic, the Estival de Jazz d’Igualada, the Ondas de Jazz de Vitoria, the Jazz A Escena, the festival A la Vora del Jazz, the Festival de Jazz a La Rambla and the Café Berlín, among others.

Currently, Ester Quevedo is part of several projects on the music scene, including her own quintet, her own trio, and the Clasijazz Valparaíso Big Band.
