Promoted by the Consorci del Besòs, the Cabal Musical project produced by Taller de Músics will be holding a big festival on Saturday 19th October at the Tres Xemeneies in Sant Adrià del Besòs with lots of music, the premiere of a new documentary and a DJ session.
Black music, Latin sounds, indie music, singer-songwriters and flamenco or folk and electronic elements will make the audience dance with concerts by artists from different editions: Monique Makon, Paula Peso, Sara Aldana, Mireia Inglés and Julia Cruz and Abraham Lojo.
The documentary, directed and produced by videomaker Andrés Pino and his agency Conjunto Vacío, will show archive images and recent interviews where past and present interrelate in a journey full of stories and musical emotions. Andrés knows the musicians of Cabal Musical closely and has been present in all their creations during the ten years of the project.
The framework for the event could not be better, Manifesta, the European Nomadic Biennial that this year is being held in Barcelona. Cabal Musical is a social innovation project based on the artistic accompaniment of young musical talents from Barcelona’s peripheral neighbourhoods and towns crossed by the Besòs River. Like Manifesta, it is a project that rethinks the relationship between culture and society and promotes positive social change through culture, the social sphere and its communities.
To date, Cabal Musical has hosted more than forty artists and musical projects. Medina and Núria Durán, also artists of the Cabal Musical, will be the masters of ceremonies of the event. The end of the party will be in charge of Dj Dani Kongo, who will play much of the music produced by all these musicians who have been part of the project.
