Born in Alicante, guitarist Vicente López developed his passion for jazz and modern music from a young age. His musical journey began at Sedajazz in Valencia, where he honed his skills before moving to Barcelona to pursue advanced studies under the guidance of renowned musician Dani Pérez. His education culminated at the prestigious Jazzcampus in Basel, Switzerland, where he had the privilege of learning from esteemed masters like Lionel Loueke, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Brad Mehldau, Pedro Martins, Lage Lund, Chris Fishman, and Ambrose Akinmusire.
In addition to his solid academic background, Vicente López has built an impressive musical career. He has shared the stage with both national and international artists, including Logan Kane, Lluc Casares, Perico Sambeat, Roni Eytan, and Nicole McCabe. He has also been a member of notable ensembles such as the Joven Big Band Nacional from Clasijazz and the Barcelona Art Orchestra (BAO), participating in the production Osmosis, composed and directed by Lluís Vidal.
His experience is not limited to live performances; he also has an extensive recording background. He has collaborated as a performer on prominent projects such as Introversión by Arnau Torné, Jazz House Sessions with Scott Hamilton by Joan Chamorro, and the aforementioned Osmosis by BAO. Additionally, he has showcased his talent as a composer, producer, and performer on the albums Susurros del Viento and Blancos y Grafitos by Alba Armengou.
