Alto For Two, led by saxophonists Kika Sprangers and Irene Reig, will present their new album Alto For Two (Berthold Records, 2024) on a European tour that will include Vienna, Munich, Budapest, Nijmegen and Brussels. This new work stands out for its blend of technique, creativity and musicality, representing a significant example of contemporary jazz. Featuring a new and original repertoire, the album reflects the artistic direction and evolution of the band, which also includes Xavi Torres on piano, Thomas Pol on double bass and Sun-mi Hong on drums.
The concerts are part of the Green Pilot Tours, an initiative by the Europe Jazz Network (EJN) that aims to promote sustainable and fair practices in the music sector through innovative touring models. Each tour focuses on a single artistic project or band performing at least four different venues or festivals, with the collaboration of at least two EJN members. The initiative emphasizes sustainability, fair remuneration, inclusion, and gender balance. The financial support aims to enhance collaboration between members, encourage transnational mobility of artists, and implement environmentally friendly touring practices while promoting diverse and gender-balanced programming.

GREEN PILOT TOURS
The added value of this concert tour is born from a desire to reduce its environmental impact. In order to do this, a series of actions are to be carried out, including the use of a single flight to and from the country of origin and otherwise travelling from one city to another in an electric car. Furthermore, there will not be any physical materials such as handheld programmes or CDs. Instead, everything will be accessible via a QR-code on a sustainable booklet containing seeds. Once used, this leaflet can be planted and given a second life. Lastly, the venues have committed to promoting sustainable mobility on concert days and to not generating plastic waste. In addition, a percentage of the profits from this tour will be donated to the Reforesta reforestation project.
