David Mauricio

Born in Girona in 1988, he began singing and playing the guitar on a self-taught basis at the age of 14. At the age of 18 he decided to start his musical training at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona. Encouraged by jazz, he decided to continue his apprenticeship by studying the Superior Degree of Music at the ESMUC, in the speciality of Jazz Singing.

Biography

Within this genre, David participated in the projects “Remember Coltrane & Hartman” and “Singing Chet”, with performances in venues such as the Jamboree in Barcelona or the Sunset in Girona.

Also attracted by musical theatre, he had the opportunity to be part of the cast of the play “Goodbye Barcelona”, where he lived a successful season in the Teatro del Raval, receiving the state award for Best Musical, in the seventh edition of the Musical Theatre Awards. He also participated in the musicals “La Moños” and “Josafat”, for which he stepped onto stage of the Municipal Theatre of Girona, his hometown.

He is currently working on his solo project and has just published his first album, Ocells Perduts, 12 songs by the author built on images and emotions.

Furthermore, he has experience teaching at several municipal schools and is currently working at the Girona School of Modern Music and the Taller de Músics in Barcelona.
