Joan Monné

Instrumental Ensembles Coordinator (ESEM)

Born in Molins de Rei in 1968, he began his studies at the municipal school in his town to later move to the Conservatori Superior de Barcelona. Very soon he combines classical studies with jazz, first at the Zeleste school and then at Taller de Músics, where he completes the study program and take lessons from great pianists such as Tete Montoliu, Brad Mehldau or Mulgrew Miller.

Biografía

He has played with soloists of stature of James Moody, Jesse Davis, Bill McHenry, Scott Hamilton, Joe Magnarelli or Peter Bernstein and with some of the most important musicians of the country’s jazz scene. He has been part of groups such as Latin Colorà, Alguímia, Carme Canela Quartet or Horacio Fumero Trio and has led his own projects, such as Joan Monné Trio, with whom he recorded three albums, Son Song, Mireia and Standards, and Joan Monné Nou Nonet. Outside the field of jazz, he participated in several television programs and played and recorded with singers such as Lucrecia, Raimon, Ute Lemper and Nina.
