Lali Solà

She was born in Barcelona, the city where she studied piano with Mª Jesús Crespo at the Municipal Superior Conservatory of Music of Barcelona, obtaining the superior titles of piano, chamber music and solfege, theory of music, transport and accompaniment and the Honorary Awards of Harmony and Chamber Music. Later, she moved to London where she furthered her piano studies with pianist Peter Bithell and Lied with Iain Burnside, a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Biography

Specialising in the repertoire of the lieder, she has also studied with Eugene Asti, Wolfgang Rieger and Roger Vignoles. She performed in numerous concert series as a soloist, with orchestra and in chamber groups. She forms a regular duo with various singers, with which she has performed Lied recitals in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, at the Classical Music Festival in Segovia, at the Conde Duque Auditorium in Madrid and at the Caixa Fòrum Barcelona, at the Palau de la Música Catalana and at the Wigmore Hall in London, among many others.

She has studied jazz piano with Joan Monné. Moreover, she made recordings for Radio 2 and Radio 4 of Ràdio Nacional de España and for the Catalan television channel TV3. She also recorded the piano music for the film Des del balcó, by Jesús Garay.

She carries out her teaching activity as a piano and chamber music teacher and pianist at the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory in Girona, the Joan Just i Bertran Conservatory in Igualada and the Escola Superior d’Estudis Musicals del Taller de Músics.
