Magalí Sare is a singer, flutist and percussionist born in Barcelona in 1991, from a family of musicians.
She has been part of the world of choral singing all his life. She also obtained the professional flute degree at the Sabadell Conservatory, obtaining the Honor Prize at the end of the studies. A couple of years later she obtained the professional degree of lyric singing at the same conservatory, also taking the Honor Prize. All these studies she had completed with 6 years of classical and modern percussion and several years of private jazz piano lessons. She studied two years the high degree of classical flute. In 2017 she graduated from the Liceo Conservatory in jazz singing, obtaining the extraordinary prize of the Jazz Department.
After spending a long time with one foot in the world of classical music and the other in modern music, Magalí Sare made the definitive leap towards jazz when she began to compose her own songs during her studies, culminating in her first album as a singer-songwriter, Cançons d’amor i dimonis (2018, Self-published), produced by Vic Moliner and Panxii Badii. In 2020 she released two duo albums, the first was A boy & a girl with guitarist Sebastià Gris, produced by David Soler, a project with which they won the Juventudes Musicales de España first prize for jazz and the first prize for music in minority languages from SUNS Europe held in Udine, Italy. The second was Fang i Núvols with double bass player Manel Fortià, a duet known for their revolutionary interpretation of the anthem of Catalonia performed at the last investiture ceremony of the president of Catalonia. In April 2022 she released her second album as a singer-songwriter, produced by Pau Brugada and herself.
She can also be heard on the album Estómac by Clara Peya (2018) and as a soprano with the Quartet Mèlt on the albums Maletes (2016) and Xarrampim! (2017). In addition, in 2020 she performed the theme song for the prestigious Estrella Damm summer advert.
