Bandoneon player and composer.
He studied the bandoneon with maestros Rodolfo Mederos, Daniel Binelli, Néstor Marconi and Julio Pane in Buenos Aires. Once settled in Europe, he continued studying at the Genvilliers Conservatory in Paris with maestro Juan José Mosalini.
He studied harmony, counterpoint and composition with Alejandro Civilotti, Daniel Montes and Karst De Jong.
Mercadante is the founder of countless projects in the city of Barcelona. These include the Trío Argentino de Tango, the Marcelo Mercadante Quintet and the Marcelo Mercadante Sextet. These projects have so far resulted in twelve records.
He has collaborated as a bandoneon player and composer with artists such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Miguel Poveda, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Joaquín Sabina, Raphael, Lalo Shifrin, David Dorantes, Susana Rinaldi, Amelita Baltar and Sandra Luna, among others.
For several years, he has been teaching various bandoneon and tango courses in the South of France (Toulouse, Tarbes and Albi).
