Born in Barcelona, Núria Balaguer is one of the most charismatic and versatile singers of the new generation jazz singers in the country. Her voice, described as the voice of emotion, has a velvety character that transmits sweetness and elegance.
Trained in modern singing at the Taller de Músics Escuela de Música and graduated from the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya in the speciality of jazz and modern music, she also has a great deal of professional experience, in which her collaborations with the salsa orchestra Siembra stand out, with the soul group FunkTumaka, the vocal trio Ninnette’s, Jazz A3 and the direction of their own duo, trio and quintet, as well as their work in the record productions of Ismael Colomer, Rossvelvet, Maria Lamata and Xerach Peñate.
She is currently immersed in the process of creating original music for her first recording as a leader, with the special collaboration of Feliu Gasull and Carme Canela, in a mixture of styles ranging from jazz to pop that promise sincerity, sensitivity and a touch of humour. As a teacher, Núria Balaguer has been a singing and piano teacher at the Sant Just Desvern Music Workshop School, a singing and modern choir teacher at the Tarantella Music School (Sants, Barcelona) and a private singing and language teacher.
