Odette Telleria

Being musically trained in Cuba, she started her career in the National Choir of Cuba from 1989 to 1991. She then found and joined the vocal women’s quarter GEMA 4 singing a cappella from 1991 until today.

Biografía

Throughout her artistic life with the quartet, she has shared the stage of jazz festivals with figures such as Eddie Palmieri, Irakere, Hernán López-Nussa, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Vocal Sampling, Ramón Valle, Ibrahím Ferrer and Omara Portuondo, Peret and Moncho. She has also made several tours in the United States, France, Spain and Switzerland, obtaining first places on the lists of the USA (4th place in the list of successes of the specialised magazine Billboard), Puerto Rico, Germany and Japan among others.

She collaborated in the shows Germanies and Jocs with Lluís Llach and made several recordings: Calle Latina (José Feliciano), Trópico (Tony Expósito), Boleros (Dyango), Gracias Formell (Varios), De l’Havana a l’Empordà (Port Bo), Beatles Chillout (B/N Music), Movies Chillout (B/N Music), Jazz Chillout (B/N Music), Buenavista Club Social (Ibrahim Ferrer) and Jocs (Lluís Llach) among others.

She has musically produced the albums of GEMA 4: Grandes boleros a capella, Te Voy a dar, Gemas (vocal part) and 4 a new dream. She has taught vocal technique at the Blues en Sol music school (1999-2003) and currently teaches at the Taller de Músics de Barcelona
