Tal Gamlieli Trio’s most sustainable tour

<< Go back 25/10/2022

Green Pilot Tours is a project promoted by the Europe Jazz Network (EJN), co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the Creative Europe 2022-2024 programme. The initiative consists of supporting a tour with a minimum of four dates in different venues or festivals for at least two artists from EJN member organisations. It focuses on an innovative touring model based on sustainability and fair and balanced practices in the music sector, as well as inclusion and gender policies.

The international meeting JAZZ I AM, member of the EJN, has been selected to receive this support to organise a tour by the Israeli artist Tal Gamlieli. In trio format, he will perform in venues in France, Germany and Poland.

Part of the added value of this tour is the desire to reduce its environmental impact. The actions that will be carried out to achieve this are: the use of a single flight to and from the artists’ country of origin and then travelling from one city to another by train. Furthermore, the tour will not have physical materials such as concert programmes or CDs, instead everything will be included on a QR code inserted in a sustainable flyer with seeds. Once used, this flyer can be planted and given a second life. Finally, the venues have committed to promoting sustainable mobility on concert days and to not generating plastic waste. In addition, a percentage of the profits from this tour will be given to the reforestation project Reforesta.
