Kike Bela MacQuillan

Biografía

Kike Bela holds a degree in Political Science from the UAB and a Master’s degree in Cultural Management, specialising in production.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in the cultural sector, working in the management of facilities, organisations, and creative and art exhibition spaces, as well as in the programming and production of festivals, music and performing arts cycles at local and national level in Catalonia and abroad (USA), all of which he combines with teaching.

He has worked in facilities managments as director of La Escocesa, Fàbrica de Creació and the Ateneu de Fabricació La Fàbrica del Sol, as well as being the technical manager of facilities for the creation of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

In the field of cultural and artistic programming and production, he has been a member of the programming and artistic production team of L’Auditori de Barcelona, artistic director of FiM Vila-seca, artistic co-coordinator of Acció Cultura Viva (La Mercè) and a member of organisations and institutions such as: America’s Society (New York, USA), Ateneu Popular Nou Barris, Espai Cultural Caja Madrid (Barcelona), Can Xalant (Mataró), Fabra i Coats – Fàbrica de Creació, Primavera Sound, La Capsa, Sala Apolo, ODA (Diputació de Barcelona), and Sitges Film Festival, among others. He mainly works as a marketing or production manager or as a member of the activities or motivational team.

He occasionally collaborates (or has collaborated) as an advisor to the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, APGCC, Fabra i Coats – Fàbrica de Creació and Programa.cat (Generalitat de Catalunya).

He is currently coordinator of the Ateneu de Fabricació Digital Ciutat Meridiana and a partner at the artistic promoter The Good Good, through which he programmes exhibition projects such as the Feedback Cycle and Acció Cultura Viva, and he has coordinated or participated in projects such as Creació i Museus, The Exploding Fest, Art i Part Sant Andreu, No Callarem, Seismes and Tallers Oberts Poblenou, among others.

In the field of teaching, he is an associate lecturer at the UOC and a lecturer on the Degree in Higher Artistic Music Education, specialising in Production and Management, at the Taller de Músics, as well as teaching on the Master’s Degree in Music Management and Production at the ESMUC.

He is also a musician and composer and is currently a member of the group Blood Quartet as well as developing his own artistic project under the name BELA.
