More about Camarada Ventura

Strongly influenced by artists such as E.S.T., GoGo Penguin and Kiasmos, they explore the possibilities of piano, double bass and drums through the language of electronic music, incorporating synthesizers, drum machines, Ableton Live and live effects. The result is immersive textures, reverberant soundscapes, danceable grooves and spontaneous improvisations, moving between techno, dubstep, melodic ballads, rock-infused passages and complex rhythms.

The trio, featuring Jofre Fité Benítez on piano and synthesizers, Carla González Ferrer on double bass, and Pau Gurpegui Gelices on drums, released their first recordings under the name JF Trio: Dotze (2022, Pside Records) and Transit (2022, EMME Record Label), the latter following their first-place win at Fara Jazz Live 2022. With six years of live performance experience, they have performed across Catalonia and various European countries. In 2024, they embarked on a new chapter as Camarada Ventura with Look Again, an album inspired by astronomer Carl Sagan’s reflections on humanity’s place in the universe.

In November 2026, they release Shores, their second album as Camarada Ventura, further exploring the intersection of progressive jazz and electronic music. The title refers to The Shores of the Cosmic Ocean, the first episode of the documentary series Cosmos, presented by Carl Sagan, in which the universe is compared to a vast ocean and human knowledge to the waves that reach the shore. Through this image, the trio invites listeners to reflect on our place in the universe and our responsibility to care for the planet we inhabit.

Composed collectively, Shores unfolds a sonic universe combining danceable passages, complex grooves, rock-infused sections and ballads, maintaining the balance between energy and sensitivity that defines the group’s sound. The album’s first single, Transmission: 5-19, was released on 14 October 2026. The album features seven tracks and will be followed in summer 2027 by a series of remixes by various producers, exploring a sound closer to techno.
