Taller de Músics and Eòlia Higher Centre for Dramatic Art have joined forces in a collaboration agreement to create the Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre Creation. This degree offers performers, composers, directors and playwrights the opportunity to study in detail the interrelated tools of music and theatre and to understand the theoretical and structural mechanisms of the genre. It has a teaching team made up of active professionals who are specialists in the field.
The Master’s program is biennial (it starts every two years) and can be completed in full or partially. During the year in which there are no classes, the program offers free monthly masterclasses to maintain engagement with the training and support continuity in learning.

From December 2025 to March 2026, four free masterclasses will be held (one per month).

Session Description
In musical theatre, the voice is not only a musical vehicle but also a fundamental tool for shaping stage narratives. Singing is also storytelling: through timbre, range, articulation, and phrasing, the voice can define characters, dramatic tension, and emotional arcs within a scene.
This masterclass offers a practical perspective on the role of the voice in the creation of original musicals, exploring how performers, composers, and stage creators can integrate vocal work into the dramaturgical development of a piece. The session approaches the voice as a meeting point between music and theatre and provides tools to understand how vocal choices can contribute to the artistic and narrative construction of a musical.

Aimed at performers and stage creators—composers, directors, and playwrights—interested in deepening their understanding of the relationship between voice, music, and dramaturgy, as well as anyone curious to discover the expressive tools used by singers.
Clara Luna
Clara Luna is a singer, composer, and pianist with over 20 years of experience on the jazz scene. She has performed at leading festivals and venues and has developed a solid career as a musical director and vocal coach in artistic and television projects, combining a strong stage perspective, musical rigor, and teaching expertise.
This masterclass is co-organised by EÒLIA Centre Superior d’Art Dramàtic, the SGAE Foundation—through the SGAE Territorial Council in Catalonia—and Taller de Músics.
The Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre Creation aims to provide advanced level students with specialised tools for the creation and production of original and self-produced musicals and to encourage cooperation between professionals.
It also aims to enrich and complement practical skills and abilities to enhance creativity, expression and interpretation.
It provides students with the necessary tools to carry out in-depth theoretical research in the field of musical theatre, to prepare, produce and create musical theatre shows, to broaden their contemporary, academic and technical artistic training and to study in depth the use of new technologies applied to the stage.
Graduates of higher studies in music, drama, direction and performance, as well as teachers, trainers and professionals in the sector who wish to broaden their training are all eligible to apply. The personal interview will also assess any non-formal training or experience.
