During his short professional career, the young bassist Hector Tejedo has already been part of several groups, such as Jofre Fité Trio, Pau Mainé Trio, Álvaro Imperial’s quartet, Pablo Martín Trio, Giovanni Ghizzani Trio and Ernest Pipó Sextet.
He is currently a member of the Original Jazz Orchestra Taller de Músics, conducted by David Pastor, as well as leading his personal project, which is soon to release an album as a quintet.
Hector Tejedo began his musical studies at the La Concepció primary school, where he took electric bass lessons and played in the class big band. Some years later, he entered the EMM Joan Manuel Serrat school where he studied electric bass with Curro Gálvez, as well as musical language and combos, including Latin combo with Vicenç Solsona.
Over the years, he became interested in jazz and improvisation and decided to train in this field at the Taller de Músics, where he received bass lessons from Joan Solà and Manel Vega, as well as classes in musical language and harmony. Later, he began the Higher Degree in Jazz and Modern Music Performance at the Taller de Músics ESEM, where he studied with bass and double bass teachers such as David Mengual, Jordi Gaspar, Martín Leiton and Pau Lligadas. The following year he studied the Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance at the ESMUC with Horacio Fumero.
Over the course of his academic training, he has attended different masterclasses and seminars given by renowned bassists such as Steve Bailey, Carles Benavent, Dario Deidda, Matt Clohesy, Charlie Moreno, Miki Santamaría, Miquel Àngel Cordero, and other prestigious instrumentalists such as Jonathan Kreisberg, Perico Sambeat, Ernesto Aurignac, Santi de la Rubia, Alex Terrier, Marco Mezquida, Xavi Torres, Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Juan Rodríguez Berbín, among others.
During his career, he has performed at festivals such as La Mercè, the Zaragoza Jazz Festival, the Tarragona and Cambrils Jazz Festival, the Connexions festival, the Emergents festival, the Talents Jazz a La Pedrera festival, the Tortosa Jazz Festival, and in auditoriums and halls such as the Palau de la Música, L’Auditori, the Conservatori del Liceu, the Milano, the Jamboree, the Jazz Cava in Terrassa, and Robadors 23, among others.
He has shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Perico Sambeat, David Mengual, David Pastor, Santi de la Rubia, Néstor Giménez, Sergi Sirvent, Vicent Pérez and Fernando Brox.
