Héctor Tejedo

Born in Barcelona, he began his musical studies at the age of 8 at the La Concepció primary school, where he took electric bass lessons and participated in the class big band. At the age of 12 he entered the EMM Joan Manuel Serrat school, where he took electric bass lessons with Curro Gálvez, as well as musical language and combos, including the Latin combo with Vicenç Solsona.

Biography

Over the years he became interested in jazz and improvisation, and at the age of 18 he decided to train in this field at Taller de Músics Escuela de Música, where he received bass lessons from Joan Solà and Manel Vega. He also studied language and harmony with Eloi Escudé, Laia Vallès, Santi Galán, and combos with Ignasi Cussó, Raül Reverter and Santi de La Rubia. In the 2017-2018 academic year he began the Higher Degree in Jazz and Modern Music Performance at Taller de Músics ESEM, with bass and double bass teachers such as Jordi Gaspar, Martín Leiton and Pau Lligadas, graduating in June 2021. He is currently studying the Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance at ESMUC with Horacio Fumero.

During his musical career he has performed jazz with various groups such as the Jofre Fité trio, Pau Mainé trio and Pablo Martín trio, a project with which he has toured the album State of the Trio (Interseccion, 2020) at different venues in Spain, such as the Clasijazz club in Almería and the Sala Clamores in Madrid. He has performed at festivals such as Música als Parcs in Barcelona, the Zaragoza Jazz Festival, the Tarragona and Cambrils Jazz Festival, the Connexions Festival, and at various venues such as the Jamboree, Jazz Cava in Terrassa, Sala Artte, Robadors 23, Balius, JazzSí and Sinestesia.
