Ignasi Cussó

He received his musical training at the Taller de Músics, specializing in Jazz and Latin. He studied electric guitar with Vicenç Solsona, Dani Pérez, Marcelino Galán and Carles Pérez, and flamenco guitar with Antonio Zarco and Juan Carlos Gómez, in addition to composition studies with Guillermo Klein. He participated in various seminars and masterclasses with Pat Metheny, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jonathan Kreisberg, Adam Rogers and Bruce Dunlap, among others

Biography

Since 2007, he has been a member of the Original Jazz Orchestra, performing with Santiago Auserón, Cris Juanico, Isaac Delgado, Jose Alberto ‘el Canario’, Horacio ‘el Negro’ Hernández, Giovanni Hidalgo, Javier Colina and Perico Sambeat, among others. He has recorded the albums Tot el que he vist, with Judit Neddermann (2014); Tot aquest soroll (2013) and Tot aquest silenci (2012), with Clara Peya; Noctámbulos, with Dr. GO (2012); Chamber eleven, with the band of the same name (2012); Canciones de Santiago Auserón with the Original Jazz Orquestra (2008); or Tot de Mi, with Cris Juanico (2008). He is currently involved in the projects Aziza Brahim, Dr.GO, els Moussakis and Chamber eleven.

In November 2014, he was awarded the prize for the best music of a poem together with Judit Neddermann, in Catalan ‘El fugitiu’ by Miquel Martí i Pol at the VII Certamen ‘Terra i Cultura’. As a teacher, he worked at the Musikalia, Bcn Fusió, Azorín, Sant Joan and Taller de Músics schools where he currently teaches the guitar and combo subjects.
