Born in Barcelona, Javier Cisneros began his studies of music and electric guitar at the age of 13. He has received lessons from guitarists and musicians such as Mike Zagora, David García, Dusan Jevtovic and Albert Faz. He also received masterclasses from artists such as Simon McBride, Frank Gambale and Guthrie Govan. He graduated in Musicology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a mention in Cultural Heritage and Management, he studied the Bachelor’s Degree in Music within the specialty of Performance at the Escuela Superior de Música Jam Session. However, he did not neglect his musical practice in several bands which led him to play around Europe.
As for his teaching facet, he began to give private and extracurricular lessons in several schools in Barcelona at the age of 18 where he discovered his passion for teaching and musical didactics. In the academic year 2013-2014, he completed a Master’s Degree in Secondary School Teacher Training, specializing in music, at the University of Barcelona. Moved by his professional interest, he has extended his pedagogical training, giving seminars on the didactics of choral singing, IT tools at classroom and teaching innovation. He is collaborator of the publisher McGraw-Hill, where he has published and created content for the books Música per a tothom, Música de prop y Música d’arreu.
He is also the guitarist of the progressive metal band Genoma, with whom he has released the album Theory of Time (Self-published, 2022) and pagan folk band Trobar de Morte with whom he has toured and played at festivals and venues from France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Spain.
