Jordi Sánchez, from Barcelona, is a pianist/keyboardist, composer, and teacher. He began showing interest in music and the piano from an early age when he started taking lessons focused on classical repertoire. Upon graduating with a degree in Physics from the UB and completing a master’s degree in Nanotechnology at the UAB, he shifted his career focus to music, pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at ESEM. There, he studied under musicians such as Santi de la Rubia and Néstor Giménez, and attended masterclasses with figures like Marco Mezquida and Shai Maestro.
With extensive teaching experience, since 2018 he has taught high school and university-level mathematics and science courses, as well as beginner and advanced music classes.
As a performer, he leads his own project, “J Trio”, with which he has been interviewed on Catalunya Ràdio’s Assaig General program and has performed at venues such as Nova Jazz Cava in Terrassa.
He has also participated in projects like “Mingus Souls”, led by Ramón Cardo and selected for Casa Milà’s Talents del Jazz program; “deciBels”, a touring project in Riga featuring musicians from various universities in Italy, Germany, and Latvia; and other personal projects such as “Trouble Bag”, by singer Júlia Duatis.
