Mar Fayos is a jazz fusion singer, composer, live music show producer, educator and music activist from Sabadell. She graduated summa cum laude in vocal performance, and arranging, with a specialisation in contemporary conducting from Berklee College of Music in 2018. The singer has just finished her training, graduating summa cum laude with a Master of Music in contemporary performance (Jazz) offered by the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, thanks to a full scholarship, and received instruction from prestigious musicians such as Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci, Tia Fuller, Kenny Werner, Kris Davis and Joe Lovano, among others.
Mar Fayos has also received a multitude of awards and nominations both nationally and internationally in recent years and has worked with artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Armando Manzanero and Mariza, among others. In addition, she has collaborated on projects with the Mexican and Peruvian Consulates in Boston, Iberia Airlines, the Cervantes Institute Observatory at Harvard University, and Sony Latin US with the Casa Limón production company.
In recent months she has given more than a hundred performances between Spain and the United States with her Mar Fayos Project. In addition, in 2020 she received a grant in the form of a scholarship for the expansion of her training and artistic development from the Generalitat de Catalunya. Furthermore, she was selected to compete in the Concurso de Juventudes Musicales de España as a soloist in the jazz category.
She has just released her first album of original music, entitled Mi Propia Religión, and she combines touring with her work as a voice teacher at Berklee College of Music and Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, as artist in residence in songwriting for Berklee College of Music and as a teacher of musical language, singing and instrumental ensemble -Vocal Combo- at Taller de Músics. In addition, she regularly offers masterclasses in singing, composition and music management at institutions around the world.
