Miriam Vallejo

This cantaora performed at the Forum of Cultures 2004 with “Fiesta Gitana” and was the official cantaora of the show “Carmen Amaya”, directed by Eva Santiago. She has performed in several flamenco festivals sharing the bill with Carmen Linares, Paco Cortés, Antonio “El Pipa”, Chano Lobato, Juan “habichuela”, Manuela Carrasco, Tomatito, Remedios Amaya, Juana Amaya, “El Funi”, Antonio Jero, Martin Chico, Manuel de Palma, “El Andorrano”, Lola and Esperanza León, among others. She has worked at the last two editions of the Begur Music Festival and the Carmen Amaya Festival, as well as in the Tribute to Diego Pantoja. She also collaborated as a chorus singer in the album “Mi forma de vivir” by Duquende and in the album “Techarí” by Ojos de Brujo.

Biography

Miriam Migueles Vallejo is a flamenco artist born in 1981 in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. At the age of 9 she began to study dance with the artist Ana Márquez and combined her training with courses of Matilde Corral, El Mimbre, Belén Maya, Eva La Yerbabuena or Javier Latorre. From the age of 13 she began to dance in peñas, festivals and different tablaos in Barcelona. At 14 she began to combine her career as a dancer with that of a cantaora and shared the bill at different festivals with artists such as Funi, Andorrano, Juana La del Pipa, Chano Lobato, Juana La Revuelo and Carmen Linares. She has also worked in companies such as “Mujeres” by Marcos Flores and has won several prizes in singing and dance competitions. At the age of 21 she decided to leave dancing to sing “backwards”.
