Núria González Cols

Nuria González Cols studied at the Music Conservatory of Manresa and at the Municipal Music Conservatory of Terrassa, initially training in the field of classical singing.

Biografía

Later she studied Modern Singing and Performance at Eòlia, Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Barcelona, while she combined her studies in Harmony and Improvisation Techniques. She furthered her studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) in the speciality of Jazz Singing. She also obtained a diploma in the speciality of teaching Music Education at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

She attended numerous seminars on jazz, singing, choral singing and music education with teachers such as Bob Stoloff, Sheila Jordan, Tony Reedus, Peter Zak, Paul Gill, Jim Snidero, David Vinden, Christian Grübe, Josep Vila, Albert Gumí, Dani Morales, Elisenda Carrasco, Basilio Astulez, Garbiñe Abendaño, Juncal Guerrero, Carmen Quiñones, Marta Sarosi, Sofia López Ibor and Doug Goodkin, among others.

As a performer, she has led and been part of different musical groups and theatre companies with projects such as Homenatge a Edith Piaf, Músiques d’arreu del món, Boulevard de la Chanson and La noche es le propicia. Records by José Agustín Goytisolo. As a singer, she has also collaborated with poet Joan Margarit in the show No era lluny, ni difícil.

She has participated in recordings for various authors and groups, including Raul Reverter “Trops in jazz” and the OST for the film No somos nadie, by director Jordi Mollà. She also participated in the record Araguaia by the composer Carles Cases. Her latest recording project is Boleros, a duo with guitarist Jordi Farrés, performing at many venues around the country and premiering at the jazz festivals of Terrassa and Granollers, as well as the IV Festival del Bolero in Barcelona.

On the pedagogical side, she has given vocal education classes for actors at several theatre schools, including the training space of the Kursaal Theatre in Manresa. She has also given workshops on vocal technique and interpretation for children’s and youth choirs and specific courses for singers in body training and composition. She currently teaches singing and choral singing at the Miquel Blanch Municipal School of Music in Castellbisbal and at El Musical, School and Conservatory of Music in Bellaterra. She teaches voice at the Taller de Músics ESEM.
