Olga López Espejo

She began her musical studies with the speciality of violin and classical singing at the Manresa Music Conservatory. Over the years, she focused her career on modern singing and flamenco singing.

Biography

She studied at the Cristina Heeren Foundation’s Flamenco Art School in Seville. For five years, she taught with Calixto Sánchez in the speciality of Vocal Technique of Flamenco Singing at the University of Córdoba. In Estill Voice Training System she obtained the title of Certified Master Teacher (CMT) in 2014, which were studies carried out together with Helen Rowson and Paul Farrington. In the field of pedagogy, she worked as an internal teacher in the courses given all over Spain by Helen Rowson and she was a trainer for Certificate of Figure Proficiency (CFP) exams within the Estill system.

She gives courses in vocal technique for teachers who are recognised and approved by the Departament d’Ensenyament de la Generalitat de Catalunya, the University of Vic and the University of Girona, and she also gives training courses for teachers organised by the Associació Catalana d’Escoles de Música de Catalunya.

She is a teacher of vocal technique based on the Estill Voice Training method in the Intercultural Music Therapy Postgraduate Course offered by the University of Girona. She has worked as a vocal advisor in different shows in the musical theatre field and in several choral groups. At present, she works at the Teatre Kursaal in Manresa in the department of Aules d’Arts Escèniques and in her private studio as a trainer, re-educator, vocal advisor and singing teacher. Currently, she directs and develops her own project, “La veu, l’instrument màgic”, with the intention of promoting and researching the EVT technique with children and adolescents and she has designed and applied a personal vocal training program for teachers.
