Locomotive Jazz Festival and Taller de Músics, with the collaboration of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), have joined forces for a new international musical creation project: Maschere Mediterranee. Four young Italian and Spanish musicians have formed a group that undertook an artistic residency in Italy from 3-6 August. During this event they created five compositions combining taranta, flamenco and jazz fusions.
Maschere Mediterranee was presented on 5 August in the Italian town of Sogliano Cavour (Lecce) as part of the Locomotive Jazz Festival. Now, the group will expand their repertoire in a second residency in Barcelona, which will take place from 20-22 November and will culminate in a concert on 22 November at 8pm at Golem’s in the Gracia neighbourhood (c/ .
This project, with Andrea Rossetti on synthesizer, keyboards and Abelton, Davide Chiarelli on drums and percussion, Álvaro López on percussion and Pau Domènech on flamenco guitar, will be presented at jazz and world music festivals and will tour in Spain, Italy and internationally. On this occasion, the Hungarian bassist Adam Sardi will also join the group, thanks to a collaboration with the Babel Sound festival.
This artistic residency is part of the Acciones para Músicos Noveles project, the result of the collaboration between Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and Taller de Músics. The aim of this project is to promote creativity and the international careers of young musical talents from the Taller de Músics community.
