Alosa

Alosa was formed in 2022 in the classrooms of the Taller de Músics Escuela Superior de Estudios Musicales (ESEM). Giulietta Vidal (vocals) and Irene Romo (cello) began their collaboration with a friendship that evolved into an innovative artistic project.
With a common vision of music, they have managed to captivate a wide audience through their unique interpretations and their ability to fuse tradition and modernity. With a vibrant live performance, Alosa manages to fill any room with the austerity of their scenic proposal, using only their harmonic voices, a cello and small traditional percussion instruments, soaring through the rapturous connection between the two performers, who make the concert an intimate and festive experience at the same time.

More about Alosa

Oh, lai l’om

After becoming a viral phenomenon on social networks with their performance of the original song “A la voreta del foc”, which accumulated more than 650 thousand reproductions, Alosa releases their first studio EP, Oh, lai l’om. This EP includes their singles “La meva barca” and “La Plaça”, as well as the interpretation of “Sota de l’om”, all with new arrangements, and an unreleased composition: “Una nova casa”.

Oh, lai l’om is a captivating fusion of tradition and modernity, reinterpreting traditional-style songs with contemporary freshness. Through themes of love, community, and connection with nature, each song reflects a unique emotional and cultural richness. With poetic lyrics and evocative melodies, the EP explores the celebration of everyday life, self-discovery, and personal empowerment. Alosa succeeds in connecting the past and the present, offering a very close and personal musical experience.

Honesty and naturalness, the magic of Alosa

Alosa was born in a natural and wholesome way, without pretensions or expectations: two girls performing music as they understand it, with no frills or fireworks. Just the two of them and the song.

What is most surprising about Alosa is their ability to create full and rounded songs with only two members, without the sense that anything else is missing. Giulietta’s hypnotic voice is a perfect match for Irene’s energetic cello which, although typically thought of as a “classical” instrument, sounds both modern and traditional in her hands.
