The adult learning programme at Taller de Músics, is expanding its offer with a new modality for people who love to sing and want to experience the joy of making music together: the Gospel Choir.
Designed for adults aged 40 and over, the choir offers a welcoming space to discover your voice, share the uplifting spirit of gospel music and enjoy singing in a friendly and supportive group.
Throughout the course, participants will explore a selection of contemporary gospel songs in English while developing vocal technique, ensemble singing, rhythm and body expression. The repertoire will include around eight songs, with a progressive level of difficulty adapted to the group.
As part of the experience, participants will take part in two concerts, to be held in February and June as part of the Senior Fest. These performances will give them the opportunity to share the results of their work with the audience and experience the excitement of performing on stage.
No previous musical experience is required, and there is no need to know gospel music or English. All songs are taught from scratch during the sessions, and participants will receive practice materials to help them continue learning at home.
Weekly sessions last one and a half hours and are open to everyone, regardless of musical background or vocal range. During the first sessions, each participant will be assigned to the vocal section that best suits their voice (soprano, alto, tenor or bass).
