From January 27 to 31 February, the Taller de Músics ESEM will be hosting a series of activities within the framework of the Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) of the Erasmus+ programme. These are short, intensive exchange programmes that offer an opportunity for international mobility to those students who, for any reason, cannot undertake a long stay abroad.
The BIP organised by the Taller de Músics ESEM is entitled «Bring On Your Voice. Exploring Ensemble Compositional Tools and Narrative Improvisation» and will work on the fundamental elements of composing, arranging, conducting and performing their own musical pieces, combining part written music and part improvised music. To this end, special emphasis will be placed on group interaction, with combos formed from a mixture of musicians from the different institutions, to encourage creativity both individually for the musician and in the context of the whole band.
Students from four European music institutions will take part in this meeting: the Girolamo Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara (Italy), the Latvian Academy of Music in Riga (Latvia), the Universidades Lusíada (Portugal), the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo, ESMAE (Portugal) and the Taller de Músics ESEM. During the course, participants will work through different workshops and working sessions with the teachers Joan Terol, Néstor Giménez, Pau Lligadas and Lluc Casares from Taller de Músics and bassist Massimo Cavalli from Universidades Lusíada.
The result of this musical exchange will be a series of concerts and jam sessions given by students and teachers to showcase their work. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the music and the creative energy that comes out of such exchanges. Furthermore, the jam session will be open to the public, so anyone can join in and actively participate.
