Marc Suárez

Marc Suárez presents his second album, Nuevas Vidas (Self-published, 2022), an EP continuing the work begun on his first album. It is a fusion of flamenco, Latin and rumba rhythms and sounds, with fresh and modern touches. The work is imbued with depth and messages in his compositions. His strongest point is the sincerity of his voice, through which he expresses emotions, reflections and experiences, in many cases inspired by his experience as a social worker and educator. All this is reflected in his lyrics, which are very personal and full of metaphors.

More about Marc Suárez

Marc Suárez was born in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona). At the age of 20 he began playing the guitar and studying music as a self-taught musician. In 2019 he joined the Cabal Musical programme at the Taller de Músics, where he recorded his first EP.

Now he presents his second album, Nuevas Vidas (self-published, 2022), an EP that is self-produced by the band members and led by bassist Juan Finger (Fatoumara Diawara), who brings his extensive musical knowledge to the songs, as well as influences from funk, salsa, jazz and Argentinean music, among others. This means that the songs have a very rhythmic character, where the groove takes centre stage, and with a lot of attention to detail: from the harmonic arrangements to the melodic details.

Marc Suárez’s live performance is fresh and sincere. He is accompanied by top-level musicians from centres such as the Taller de Músics, the Esmuc and the Liceu: Jesús Campos on flamenco and Latin percussion, Daniel Giró on keyboards, Frederico Vannini on flamenco guitar and electric guitar and Juan Finger on bass.
