From 29 January to 2 February, the Taller de Músics ESEM will be hosting a series of activities within the framework of the Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) of the Erasmus+ programme. These are short, intensive exchange programmes that offer an opportunity for international mobility to those students who, for any reason, cannot undertake a long stay abroad.
The BIP organised by the Taller de Músics ESEM is entitled “Ensemble texture exploration and narrative improvisation” and will focus on the fundamental elements of improvisation, with the aim of enriching the musical narrative. To this end, special emphasis will be placed on group interaction to encourage creativity, both at an individual level for the musician and in the context of the band as a whole.
Students from four European music institutions will take part in this meeting: the Girolamo Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara (Italy), the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen (The Netherlands), the Latvian Academy of Music in Riga (Latvia) and the Taller de Músics ESEM. During the course, participants will work with the teachers Joan Terol, Néstor Giménez, Pau Lligadas and Lluc Casares through different workshops and working sessions.
The result of this musical exchange will be a series of concerts and jam sessions given by students and teachers to showcase their work. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the music and the creative energy that comes out of such exchanges. Furthermore, the jam sessions will be open to the public, so anyone can join in and actively participate.
