Access Bachelor of Music

To gain admission to Higher Music Education at Taller de Músics you must make an entrance test, in accordance with the provisions of resolution ENS/503/2017, of March 8th, which establishes the basis of the specific entrance test for higher artistic education.

The objective of the tests is to evaluate the aptitudes of potential candidates and to determine whether or not they are equipped to study for a Bachelor of Music in their chosen speciality. Furthermore, in the event of having more candidates than places, the tests serve to identify those candidates who most merit their place on the course.

* We are waiting for the resolution of the official announcement for the entrance tests of the course 2020-21.

1. High School Diploma/Baccalaureate. Candidates must be in possession of a High School Diploma/Baccalaureate or have passed the University Entrance Test for over 25s, and pass the specific test for the chosen speciality.

Exceptionally, students over the age of 16 who are in the sixth year of professional music or dance education, or who have passed the entrance exam to the sixth year of a professional degree, and wish to access higher artistic studies in music or dance, may also apply, in accordance with the eighth additional provision of Royal Decree 1614/2009 of 26 October, establishing the organisation of higher artistic education regulated by Organic Law 2/2006, of 3 May, on education, modified by Royal Decree 21/2015, of 23 January.

Those students aged 19 or older (or who turn 19 in the year 2015) wishing to join the artistic Bachelor’s studies but who have neither the high school baccalaureate diploma nor the university entrance test for over 25s, must pass a specific test related to high school objectives.

2. Professional Grade qualification. This is also necessary, and in the event of not having this qualification, it is necessary to sit a separate exam prior to the entrance test. Unlike the baccalaureate exam, this test is done in-centre and is not selective, rather the grade obtained is included with rest of the grades for the entrance tests and will be counted jointly.

The following equivalents to the professional grade music qualification are accepted: Plan 42 Professional qualification, Plan 66 Medium Grade Music qualification, LOGSE Medium Grade Qualification, LOE Professional Grade Music qualification, Bachelor’s level qualification in music from a speciality different to that being applied for.
